Senior Center Programs & Midday Meal
Are you over 60 and looking for an exciting place to meet new friends, develop new interests or pursue hobbies? Senior centers provide a place for you to gather with other active, mature adults and join in educational classes; classes in crafts, writing, photography, art, dance, foreign languages, exercise and computer skills; a lunch program, and other group activities. Your center can also help identify other Federal and State benefit programs for which you may be eligible. The Senior Center can provide you a ride if you are without other transportation to the center. To participate you must be age 60 or older or the spouse of someone over 60.
The delicious noonday meal is served for a small suggested donation and is also available for persons requiring a special, physician prescribed diet. (Reservations for lunch must be made with the center at least 24 hours in advance).

Don't be intimidated by computers! Our classes will have you surfing the Internet in no time and e-mailing your grand kids. There is a wide variety of basic classes available. Call for more details.
Senior Net
The Midvale SeniorNet Learning Center is one of two learning centers of its kind in Utah. We offer computer classes to people age 50 and older. We cater to the needs of seniors with specialized instruction, small classes, one-on-one coaching and are held only one day a week. Cost of the classes is only $20; which includes the workbook and personalized instruction.

Classes Offered
Computer Fundamentals (Basic I) - 4 weeks
Introduces you to computers and to the Windows operating system and to provide you with practice using the mouse and the computer keyboard.
Introduction to Work Processing (Basic II) - 4 weeks
Introduces you the use of personal computers. Basic Windows XP procedures and become familiar with some of the features of Microsoft Word.
Internet & E-mail - 4 weeks each
Introduces you to an overview of the Internet and E-mail. Learn how to send and receive email messages using an address book you create. Learn ways to navigate on the Web, search for information and how to save your favorite web addresses. These classes are taught 4 weeks of email; 4 weeks of internet.
Graphics/Scanning - 4 weeks
Introduces you to the use of graphics on your computer. How to scan, edit, and restore photographs. Learn about digital photography. How to insert graphics and photographs in various projects.
Exploring Windows XP - 8 weeks
Introduces you to the Microsoft Windows operating system. Learn about basic Windows procedures; learn various ways to open programs and files. Learn how to modify your desktop, the task bar and Start menus. Learn to use the My Computer window and Windows Explorer. Create and modify files and folders, and how ton maintain the "health" of your disks.
Lab hours are available on Monday from 1:00-3:00 pm.
